I'm a cane creek fan, as the owner of the wonderful air shocks. i purchased a db inline coil to fit on my 170 mm enduro bike, but the stroke is about 54 mm instead of the declarated 63. So the actual travel of my frame is something like 140-145 mm, instead of theorical 165 (full travel could be achieved with a 230/65 mm shock). I can feel the difference and am a little disappointed...I think it's a little too much...Sent an e-mail to c.c. and received a quick but unsatisfying answer. Maybe I'm fussy? I think that i'll swap my db cs back. "

"Amazing. Not my first coil. But the first on my Geometron G13. Which is hard to find a coil shock for. Given that it is a 130mm trail bike. Weight and simplicity are key. Combined with a Valt spring this things weight is low. The lockout for climbing works. The guys at TF were fantastic at contacting me to discuss hardware for the shock and to run over the spring weights to opt for the correct spring. It arrived quickly and all put together so it was ready to go straight in the frame. Truly great little shock for trail use. Have had many rides and traction is improved including small bump sensitivity."

"I decided to upgrade my giant reign from an air can to a coil shock, TF Tuned came highly recommended as a suspension specialist with a reliable spring calculator. Receiving the unit from TF Tuned was brilliant, the coil spring had been fitted along with the press fit mounting bush so I only had to replace the air can with the pre-assembled DBCoil unit, no need for a spring compressor or any faff. Would definitely recommend buying damper, spring and mount as a package. The DBCoil IL is a light weight option as far as coil shocks go, good choice for me as I ride trails as well as bike parks. It is my first coil shock so can only compare with air cans but it really is the mutts nuts. Firmer more responsive ride running the linear spring on the downs, climbs so well can hardly notice the difference. I’m 78 kilos before I put on a hydration pack so said I was 80kg, 160mm travel, 57mm stroke = 490 Plush DH 33% Sag or 520 Firm DH/Freeride 28% Sag. I went for a 500lbs spring which rides spot on."
